While much of Britain seems to grind to a halt every time the thermometer nudges towards 30 degrees, the team at WEFIX London has been doing exactly the opposite.

This week, despite one of the hottest spells in recent years, our engineers have maintained a full 24/7 service while setting new company records every single day. Monday’s job tally smashed our previous best by an incredible 20%, while Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday all finished more than 10% ahead of anything we’d achieved before.

These aren’t one-off results either. They come after a record-breaking week last week, and record months in March, April and May. The momentum behind WEFIX London just keeps growing.

It does make you wonder what has happened to Britain’s work ethic. Somewhere along the way, too many people seem to have decided that work should fit around whatever suits them.

Working from home, four day weeks, mental health days, heatwave warnings, and every other excuse to stay off the job all seem to be becoming part of modern working life. In my view, that growing sense of entitlement is one of the reasons productivity has stalled and the economy is struggling.

When politicians encourage people to stay at home because it’s a bit hot outside, you have to ask what sort of message that sends. Britain wasn’t built by people looking for reasons not to work.

At WEFIX London, our customers still need their boilers repaired, leaks fixed and electrics made safe, whatever the weather. While others appear to be waving the white flag, our team has rolled up its sleeves, kept turning up and kept delivering.
